Tomi Ilijaš, CEO, and Urška Starc Peceny, Chief Innovation Officer, both Arctur, participated also as speakers at the event in the session dedicated to Connectivity to Connect and Collaborate. The focus was on how to prepare the right IT infrastructure to open new business opportunities for any travel and tourism organisation. Knowing the best way to connect between platforms and channels can help us grow and become a leader in our market. Connectivity must be understood as a must-practice to transform and increase our offer and experience, but also, to have better management with tools that make it possible.
Urška shared her experience at workshop on Smart Specialisation Strategies for digital tourism transition: AI, and data analytics applied to a new tourism normality. The workshop aimed at defining the ingredients of a smart regional tourism strategy leading to accelerate the digitalisation of tourism ecosystems as a driver of tourism sector recovery, competitiveness and long-term sustainability. These strategies must be mainstreamed by the so-called Smart Specialisation Strategies, which Regions will shortly elaborate to make use of the Cohesion Funds 2021-2027. Regional Tourism Authorities require guidance to optimise those financial instruments as well as the Recovery Funds for the benefit of the digital and greening transition of tourism.
