Second workshop in Georgia

On 17th December, 2020 a local partner of the project T4BS from Georgia, Tourism Institute, organized the second circle of webinars. The main goal of the event was to introduce an overview of the first results of TIM (Tourism Impact Model) for Batumi and possible application of the model to local stakeholders.

Presentations were delivered by the consortium leaders HCL Management and Arctur to wide range of local stakeholders from public, private and academic sector, business associations, journalists, students and ordinary citizens. The event was attended by the Department of Tourism and Resorts  of Ajara Autonomous republic, Batumi City Hall, Maritime Transportation Agency of Georgia, National Statistics Office of Georgia, Georgian National Administration of Georgia, Batumi State University, Caucasus University, Georgian Business Association, Georgia Tourism Industry Alliance, Tourinvest - Hilton Batumi investor company, Batumelebi – the major local web-media company and many more.

In the final part of the webinar, a productive discussion was held, which showed vivid interest of local stakeholders towards the big data and tourism sustainable development.

The project continues and one more webinar is planned to be organized where final results of TIM will be presented to the local audience.
